What happens with Food & Beverage cartons

As of 1 October 2025, the fraction is covered by producer responsibility legislation. BOFA is then only responsible for the collection and baling of the fraction.

The producer, or a company hired by the producer, is responsible for ensuring that the fraction is recycled or reused after collection/balling.

  • Packaging (e.g. from food)
  • Beverage cartons from e.g. milk, juice, cocoa and juice.
  • Food cartons from e.g. chopped tomatoes, soups, chickpeas, cooking cream, sauces and freezer ice cream, etc.
  • Yogurt and yoghurt cartons

  • Pizza maker
  • Food waste
  • Used cardboard tableware and plastic coated cardboard

Cartons are delivered empty/scraped clean and loose in the container.
