What's happening with Plast

As of 1 October 2025, the fraction is covered by producer responsibility legislation. BOFA is then only responsible for the collection and baling of the fraction.

The producer, or a company hired by the producer, is responsible for ensuring that the fraction is recycled or reused after collection/balling.

  • Packaging (e.g. trays from meat, cold cuts and fruit)
  • Lids, canisters, containers
  • Plastic bottles and tubs (e.g. from skyr or cream cheese)
  • Soft plastics (e.g. foil from vegetables and shopping bags)
  • Packaging from shampoo and dishwasher labelled:

  • Styrofoam, PVC and other construction waste
  • Pet food bags with metal lining
  • Empty paint buckets and hazardous waste labelled:
  • Garden furniture etc.

Please note

Plastic < 70 cm. Must be able to lie loose in container/environment/container. Plastic packaging must be delivered empty/scraped clean.
