What happens with Lithium batteries

The fraction is covered by producer responsibility legislation. BOFA is therefore only responsible for the collection and short-term storage of the fraction. The producer, or company (ERP, European Recycling Denmark) hired by the manufacturer is responsible for the reuse, recycling, recovery or disposal of the fraction after collection/storage.

  • Lithium batteries in all sizes. For example, button cell batteries, hand tool batteries and e-bike batteries.

  • Common brownstone, alkaline and automotive batteries.

Please note

Lithium batteries must never be mixed with general waste, residual waste, residual after sorting or otherwise mis-sorted. Batteries, Residual Waste, Residue after sorting or otherwise mis-sorted, as there is a high risk of them exploding and igniting a fire during waste management.
