Invasive plants are species that have been introduced and are not wanted on Bornholm. Examples of these plants are:
- Wrinkled rose (rosehip rose)
- Arrowhead (Japanese/giant/hybrid)
- Giant hogweed
- Goldenrod (Herringbone/Canadian)
- Giant Balsamin.
These plants - as well as other invasive species on this list - are unwanted on Bornholm and are therefore fought against.
If you have plants or plant parts from the above species, dispose of them properly:
- Residual waste (this type of waste is taken directly to incineration).
- Residue after sorting - small, preferably in closed bags (in summer, residue after sorting can be sent to an intermediate depot, which can allow the plants to spread).
- For larger loads of invasive plants, they can be delivered directly to BOFA's incinerator.
By disposing of it correctly, you help protect Bornholm's nature from the spread of invasive species.
