The ratchet diary
BOFA is working to realise the dream of the Trash Dairy.
In 2020, BOFA has received funding commitments from 3 local foundations:
- Bornholms Brand (DKK 1,000,000)
- Sparekassen Bornholms Fond (DKK 500,000)
- Brothers E., S. & A. Larsens Legat (DKK 300,000)
The waste centre will be a laboratory and workshop for play and experimentation with waste and resources.
When school children, business delegations and politicians visit BOFA to learn about waste, the teaching and presentations currently take place in the Waste Tower. But the Waste Tower is not robust enough and not big enough to accommodate the practical experiments and games with waste that should be part of a visit to BOFA. There is a need for more space for play for the approximately 3000 guests who visit BOFA every year.
The waste centre will be a laboratory and workshop that can accommodate and educate children and adults through play and experiments with waste, while teaching upcycling and reuse in a circular economy.
The vision for Skraldedariet is that the building's facilities will be fully utilised. BOFA will primarily use the building during regular office hours, leaving plenty of time for other organisations to book in and access the facilities during afternoons, evenings and weekends. E.g. evening classes, entrepreneurial activities, associations, workshop activities for children, etc.
BOFA is in the process of applying for funding for the realisation of the Litterarium.
